A traditional early 20th-century terraced house in Beckenham, Kent, with the established character of the period's residential architecture.

The existing ground floor had a compact kitchen and a small, separate dining room, limiting the sense of space and flexibility of the home. The owners wanted to create a more generous and balanced living environment, better suited to everyday family life.

The design focused on integrating the kitchen and dining areas into one open, connected space, complemented by a side extension to provide the additional space required. The extension provided a much needed utility room and cloakroom, improving the functionality and organisation of the ground floor.

The result is a bright, comfortable and well connected living space that makes better use of the existing house while creating a more practical and enjoyable setting for everyday living.
